VDC #5 — Playing with Alcohol Inks

It's already time for the last card in the Valentine's Day Card-a-Palooza! Whomp-whomp. I have had so much fun creating for this week I don't want it to end!  How many Card-a-Palooza's can I do? St. Patrick's Day? Earth Day? How about Arbor Day? Ha!  But seriously, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has stopped by this week and checked out each post. You guys are the best!

I wanted to end the week by experimenting with some new products! Well, to me at least! Alcohol inks have been around for a long time, but I was always to intimidated by them. Turns out, they couldn't be easier to use, and they yield the most beautiful and unique results. I can't recommend them enough!
I also was able to try out the Parker Lower Alphabet die for the first time. Ever since Danielle told me about it, I knew it was a must have! I wanted it to look like the letters were being poured from the top of the card, hence the punny sentiment — "Falling for you." It reminds me of the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom?  Did any of you read that as a kid?  I LOVED it!
Here is a closer look at the alcohol inks that I put behind the die cut words to make them pop! I couldn't quite capture the sheen that the glossy cardstock gives, but in real life, the words really stand out.
While I had all my supplies out, I thought that I may as well bust out one more card along the same lines. This one was a lot simpler, but would still serve as the perfect little love note for your Valentine.  To see me experiment with the alcohol inks and the dies, check out the video below!

  5. Thanks for the push to use this product. I have a huge collection of alcohol inks just collecting dust. I played with them when I first got them but never used them in a project. Inspired by your video, I pulled them out and CASEd your card (I gave you full credit and a link on the post here http://www.alittlepeaceofpaper.blogspot.com/2013/01/playing-with-alcohol-inks.html...hope that's okay. Thanks again for all your inspiration.
