Market Street Sneak Peek!

It's release week over at Market Street Stamps and this month is a doozy!  All (or should I say OWL — HA!) of the sets are pretty awesome. :-)

This is the card I made with the new set, Night Owls. The owl has some cute eyes of his own, but I wanted to liven him up by giving him some googly eyes! AND the font in this set is perfect — clean, but bold.

Now head over to Market Street and see what the rest of the DT created with this set.
Also a reminder: Stamps are released on Thursday and new sets are 15% off for a WHOLE WEEK!  If you buy all of this month's releases you receive 25% off!  I love a deal!

Monday FUNday!

It's pretty much a general consensus that Monday's are the worst day of the week.  Most people have to go back to work, or school or start some type of routine after having a relaxing weekend.  It's the pits!  BUT — I'm determined to have a good attitude today and make the best of what used to be my least favorite day.

I was sort of productive this weekend, and managed to crank out lots of card sets to use as gifts this holiday season!
I was also sort of not productive because Matt and I played Call of Duty for hours. :-) FYI: We make a great marine team.

This week's Show and Tell (#4) features these card sets. I got to play with LOTS of Distress Inks, which I adore.  Watch the whole process below —

All together, these probably took me less than an hour to make.  Super fast!
I ended up with three sets of three.  One of each sentiment and one of each color combo.

This one was my favorite set.  I love the combo of the green and orange.

Alright, let's all go have a FUN Monday! I'll be back tomorrow with a sneak of this month's Market Street Stamps release.  It is SUPER cute. :-)

Follower Appreciation WINNER! :-)

*If you are here to see my Young Crafter's Unite Challenge Post, just scroll down!*

Two posts in one day?!  That's pretty rare for me, but I had to stop in and share the winner from the Follower Appreciation Giveaway I had last Friday.

I know I said it before, but I'll say it again. You guys are way too nice. I read through the comments on that post last night and decided that I will read them any time I need a little pick me up! :-)

Okay, enough of the mushy stuff, you are all here to see who is the winner.  The winner was chosen by random.org and is none other than....

CONGRATS Heather!! I went to your blog, but I couldn't find an e-mail address for you, so be sure to
e-mail jesslarsendesign@gmail.com your snail mail address to claim your prize.

Again, thank you so much for following everyone!  I plan to keep up with the videos, the card making and the paper crafting fun here on the blog. I also picked up a NEW HD CAMERA!  Hopefully the videos will be just a little bit higher quality. You can expect the next one on Monday.

Have a phenomenal weekend!

Young Crafter's Unite Challenge #2

The first challenge over at Young Crafter's Unite flew by and we are already on to Challenge Numero Dos!  This time around, the goal is to create a card with a coordinating envelope.  Would you believe that I've never stamped on an envelope before?! Let me warn you that it will become an addiction. Almost every card I've made since this challenge has had a matching envelope — it's just too cute!

Here is my entry, made using my favorite Hero Arts + Studio Calico collab set

I plan on giving this card as a gift to my sister (who is probably reading this — if so, pretend to be surprised when you see it again on your birthday!) Since I will be giving this to her in person, I didn't have to worry about having a spot for any addresses, so I decided to add her initials to the center circle using Quinn's ABC's. I colored in the letters using a blending pen to ensure that it would match my inks.

I see a stationary set in the near future using this monograming method.  It's cute, personalized and looks handmade, yet professional — perfect.

You have plenty of time to enter the challenge, which you definitely should because our sponsor is none other than the amazing Simon Says Stamp!

Head on over to the Young Crafter's Unite Blog to see all of the beautiful inspiration and get crafting! :-)

Easy as 123...

It's Thursday, which means the weekend is just around the corner!  I've had a to-do list a mile long lately, and I am feeling a bit behind. But! I know it will all get done — just keep swimming, just keep swimming!

On to today's card! Here is my last reject from the Paper Crafts magazine call!  I'm thinking the sentiment doesn't make much sense, unless you are familiar with the Michael Jackson song. Even then, I'm not sure what for what occasion you would give this card — all in all, it's not a winner! However, I've got to keep it real and share the failures. Plus, I love those Amy Tangerine cardstock pieces.

Any ideas for when this card would be appropriate?  Not a birthday, not thinking of you, maybe back to school?  I clearly have no idea!

I'll link this card up to Amber's Reject blog hop, as well. If you haven't visited that post over there yet, I highly recommend checking it out — lots of talent.

I'll be back bright and early tomorrow with the Young Crafters Unite Challenge #2.  It is really a FUN one. :-)

Celebrating rejection!

Welp, it was my first time submitting to Paper Crafts and neither of my cards were accepted! I am thinking I should have submitted more than two, but that's neither here nor there now because the call has ended.  There is always next time right?!

I wasn't too bummed, because I knew they would see the light of day here on the blog, and I knew that Miss Amber makes us losers feel like winners with her Reject Blog Hop. :-)

This was for the rainbow category.  I used lots of Jenni Bowlin inks and Hero Hues pearls.  They coordinated pretty much perfectly.  I also love love that feather stamp from Amy Tangerine.  Would it be really weird if I got that tattooed on to my wrist?  Probably — but I am considering it!

xoxo,
Jess
