The contest over at the Hero Arts Club blog this month, was to create a scene on the front of a card. I've written before about how this is one of my favorite things to do, so I knew I would have to participate!

Lately, I have loved to make backgrounds out of patterned paper. It's just so easy and looks so vibrant.
Also, as I'm sure you know, I can't stop stitching butterfly trails. As soon as I see one, the urge to stitch a loopy trail behind it is unstoppable.
Tomorrow it is already time to post Word on the Street #2 over at the Market Street Blog. Last week's video can be found here. I am still doing some editing on the video, as well as the voiceover, and I woke up this morning with no voice! So, I may sound a little crazy in the video for tomorrow. Who gets sick in the middle of August anyway? I'll try to keep the complaining to a minimum, but I seriously HATE being sick. Here is to lots of Dayquil and wearing sweatpants to work this morning!
Supplies used on this project:

Love the dotty background for the clouds and the butterfly stitches! And the colors in the butterfly are fabulous. Details on the butterfly, pretty please...
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL scene, Jess! Also, I think I'm going to steal your supplies list idea- super cool! And super enabling! Haha! Feel better!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterfly! I love loopy trails, I haven't tried stitching on yet, I usually just draw them. But I'm going to have to stitch one now I think. Love the patterned papers you used, such a lovely little card.
ReplyDeleteIf makes you feel any better, I am sick in August too. Bahh
