Hoping for sunshine...

Sorry for the blog break!  Life is busy busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. :-) About a week ago, Simon Says Stamp had their Summer release and if you haven't checked it out yet, RUN don't walk!

Today I grabbed the Seasonal Simon set, featuring sweet Simon himself. The set includes a bunch of accessories so you can customize Simon including rainboots, an umbrella, sunglasses and more.  It is seriously cute. I also used my new favorite, must have die — Flat Bottomed Clouds. (Which definitely reminds me of the Queen song Fat Bottomed Girls...lol.) Some Copic coloring, a little paper piecing and some foam adhesive and this card was finished.  Thanks for stopping by!

You're Spot On

Just wanted to pop in and share my last card for the month of April! Is anyone else in total disbelief that it will be MAY tomorrow?!  Don't get me wrong — I'm thrilled with the season change, it just seems that life is flying by!

Today's card would be a cute birthday or I love you for a child and I could even see modifying this a bit to mass produce some sweet Valentines. I started by taking the dog image from the Circle Friends set from Simon Says Stamp. I layered the polka dot circle from the same set over the top of the dog using a light ink color.  Instant dog spots!!  I love the idea of layering the different patterns over the animals in this set and definitely want to try the other options soon!

I used the Hero Arts Party Dots background stamp to create a tone on tone look for the card base. Then I layered my sentiment and images on a large die cut circle in the corner.  When I'm feeling stuck to think of a card layout, this is one of my "go-tos!" It almost always looks cute! See you in MAY! :-)

Rainbow Circles!

Hi peeps! I'm keeping those Monday blues away by spending my time crafting.  Who needs a clean house when you can have inky fingers?! :-) I was super excited to play with this die from Simon Says Stamp.  It cuts random circles from the perfect standard size card front.  Instead of using the main die cut piece, I decided to torture myself use my patience and work with the loose circles instead! I colored them with a rainbow of Copics and used the die as a template for where they should go. I added Glossy Accents to a few, just for a little shine and grabbed the sentiment from the Fit to be Square Simon Says set. I really love how this turned out, although I don't think this would be a good one to mass produce! I can't wait to keep playing with that die.  It has so many possibilities!
