Simon Spring 2014 Blog Hop

Hi friends! I am so excited to be here this Friday as part of the Simon Says Stamp Spring 2014 Release Blog Hop! (Say that five times fast! :0) You should have arrived here from the awesome Suzanne Dahlberg!

On my card, I used the awesome new Bubbles and Bars background stamp from Simon. This stamp is huge and easily covers the front of a card. I stamped it using Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass ink onto the coordinating Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass cardstock for a tone on tone look. Then I stitched down some of the lines using some tealish thread. For the sentiment I used the Simon Big Love You die from the previous release. I paired it with a stamped you from the new Big You stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Don't forget to leave a quick comment. Simon is giving away a goody bag to a commenter from each stop on the hop — that is 17 chances to win! Next, head over to the lovely Laurie Willison at Soapbox Creations.

hugs & kisses

I got to experiment with a new medium this past weekend, and I have to say — I might be in love! I used Ferro for the first time and it was too cool. You can learn more about all things Ferro from the lovely and talented Jennifer McGuire in this video HERE!  I combined the Gold Ferro with a Simon Says Stamp stencil Falling Hearts.  I added the simple sentiment from the Perfect Love set also from Simon.
This shot really shows off the lovely dimension those hearts add.  So simple and so beautiful. Thanks so much for stopping by!

I {heart} U

It's the middle of January?!  When the heck did that happen?!  The holidays combined with lots of fun family time have kept us very busy for the last month, but I am slowly getting back into the craft room to create.  Today, I wanted to use one of my very favorite Simon Says Stamp sets from the last release — Sketched Alphabet.  This set is full of possibilities, but with the upcoming holiday, I wanted to try and create a Valentine's card.

First I stamped the I and the heart and the U. Then I built the rest of the alphabet around it!  I believe I originally saw the I {heart} U integrated into the alphabet on Pinterest, but now it seems like I see it everywhere!  It was even on some Valentine's merchandise at Target tonight.  The scale of these stamps is perfect for something like this.  They are large enough to really make a statement on the front of a card!  The large heart is from another new Simon set — All About Love.
And of course I can't forget to mention that gorgeous red ink.  That would be Simon Says Stamp Lipstick Red.  Notice the even, flawless coverage?  Never in my life have I been able to get that kind of coverage from a dye ink until now.  I ADORE these inks.  That's all for today.  I'll be checking in again soon. :-)

Simon Says Stamp Valentine's 2014 Blog Hop!

Hi friends!  Thanks for joining us for the Simon Says Stamp Valentine's 2014 Blog Hop. You should have arrived here from the lovely May Flaum's blog! I may say this every release, but I mean it this time — THIS release is my favorite one yet!!

simonnewreleasehelloleaves

Simon asked each of the designers to showcase specific products from the release.  I worked with the Clustered Leaves die and the Small Hello die. I began by laying the Clustered Leaves die diagonally across the card front and running it through my Big Shot. I then added a piece of green cardstock in the negative space. Then I took the leaves that I originally cut and layered them back on the card front, slightly offset from where I cut them. This creates a really unique shadow effect and is really a quick and simple technique!  To make the Small Hello die POP, I die cut it several times from white cardstock. I glued all of my hellos together and added the final hello on top, die cut from wood grain paper.

It wouldn't be a Simon Says Stamp hop without a GIVEAWAY!  Simon is giving away a $25 gift card to the Simon store to a commenter from each stop on the hop — 16 chances to win!  Make sure you leave a comment below, as well as at the other stops on the hops to increase your odds.

The next stop on the hop is Laurie Willison at Soapbox Creations.  I cannot wait to see what she has made — love her style!  Thanks for stopping by!
